Episode 59 - Wedding Day

I have to confess that this will only be a very short post as I didn’t have much time last week to prepare this blog. That was because I was preparing for something else… My Sister’s wedding! It was great to be able to be here for it and share in her special, and so I wanted you to share in it too! Knowing that I’ll be able to be around in England as she starts this new adventure is very special too. God really does give good gifts in unusual circumstances!

Joey is an engineer. He fixes stuff, usually by switching them off and then back on again. If that doesn’t work, then he uses a hammer, or WD40, or duct tape. Sometimes all three. He has recently spent five years maintaining and repairing machines which are used to treat cancer. He considers himself fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend his time helping people whilst being able to enjoy the technical challenge that this provided.

In his spare time, Joey enjoys spending time in the outdoors, playing the drums and talking in the third person. He has a passion for music and an adventurous spirit. When given the opportunity, he can be found scrambling up rock faces, snowboarding on the piste, or in his living room dunking a digestive biscuit into his tea for an irresponsibly long amount of time.

At a very young age Joey realised that being a Christian was more than following rules or a set of beliefs, but about knowing Jesus for himself. From that time He continued to get to know Him better and is continuing to know him more and more each day. Throughout Joey’s life God has led him through many adventures and challenges, and is now leading Joey to his greatest yet! God is calling Joey to use his engineering skills to help the people of Papua New Guinea; to enable life saving communications, and to pass on the skills and experience that he has. As Joey prepares to serve God in Papua New Guinea, He is looking for a team of people who are (almost) as excited about what God is using Joey for as Joey is. People who want to share in this adventure with him, and who are committed to supporting him prayerfully, financially, or both. Could you be one of them?
